Why is it called deinblick?
deinblick is German and can be translated with ‘your view’. In Germany it’s pretty easy to take two words and put it together in one to create a new one. The name represents our roots. That’s where we are coming from. And that’s why we chose it even though the whole concept has an international approach.
Are you looking for professionals?
Well, deinblick is about true, personal stories, and inspiration built on your daily life and culture. You do not have to be a professional photographer or writer to tell us about this. Just kick us with your contribution. If it's a text or article and you are not sure if it is woth uploading, please don't hesitate. deinblick editorial staff will support you in shaping articles, always keeping it real and always asking you for approval.
Why print?
People like you and me enjoy our screens so many hours per day that we decided not to launch an online magazine but a high-quality print version. For a printed magazine there is no need to quickly scan and sort it in a certain file afterwards to not block storage for further incoming massages. A printed magazine is easy-care. Flip through it whenever you like to, leave it lying around and go for it when you are ready again. Moreover, having a closer look means grapping! A certain feeling will come along with that touch you won’t forget.
What about the environment?
deinblick is attending the climate partner program. Moreover, we only print on demand which means less environmental impact.
Why is there no login?
We don’t think that anybody really likes to provide personal data they obviously don't need for using the deinblick website services. So why should we go for unnecessary data? We want everyone to be able to share their ideas, views and emotions. No user accounts is the easiest way to be part of the deinblick world. Free and easy is what it should feel like.
What’s a topic?
We’d like to give direction to your submissions. And as life and style are such wide words we change perspectives constantly. Therefore the magazine represents the constant change and drive we are addicted to.
Why just one topic?
The intention is to make every deinblick issue a new one worth being read and spotted... diversified and astonishing.
When do you publish the next issue?
deinblick magazine is published every two months.
My address has changed, where can I update my details?
There will be an address-update-feature in 2011. Currently we'd like to ask you sending an email at sub
deinblick.com.
Which rights will I transfer to deinblick by uploading my work?
Of cause you remain author of your own work. So by submitting content you grant deinblick a non-exclusive right of use. For all details, please see our terms and conditions chapter 6.
How many contributions are chosen?
We do select 20 to 50 submissions from people all over the world to create a collaborative work: the deinblick magazine. Stop by regularly on our website or get a magazine to see if your selection was published or is provided in the download zone.
Why just one image upload?
We want you to pick your very best image!
What happens to my contribution after I send it to deinblick?
If it is selected, it might easily show up on the magazine as well as in the deinblick download area with your name right next to it. If not, please hang in there and try again.
Why wasn’t my photo story selected?
Please keep trying! There are a lot of things that go into making each magazine’s selection. Get a feeling for the style of the magazine.
Why can’t I see other people’s contributions?
Don’t worry, this is an essential part of the deinblick idea. You never know what you are going to get. But you do know that there will be lots and lots of different interpretations from different parts of this world. That’s what makes deinblick unique.
Do I get paid for my contribution if it is selected?
deinblick is a stage for your views and your opinions. Obviously, we need your input and we therefore feel it vital that we support you as our “journalists”. The first reward is the magazine as a platform that is showing your submissions. The second one is that we decided to let you partake in the proceeds of our download area. If you look at the price list you can see that a large part of the sum goes directly to the author. So please remember, when you download a submission you’re helping and rewarding the author.
What will the next deinblick topic be about?
